Climate Alert! IMD points heavy rain warning for Maharashtra

The India Meteorological Division on Sunday issued a warning for Maharashtra forecasting heavy to very heavy torrential rains with thunderstorms within the state until September 9.

The orange alert, which is legitimate until September 9, has been issued for Four districts, together with Nashik, Pune, Satara, and Ratnagiri. 

“In view of the formation of a low-pressure space over north and adjoining central Bay of Bengal through the subsequent 48 hours and different related synoptic options, Maharashtra could be very prone to expertise an lively rainfall spell throughout subsequent 4-5 days,” the IMD mentioned.

Enhanced rainfall is predicted over the area with heavy to very heavy rainfall at remoted locations over Konkan,” it mentioned.
