NEW DELHI: Legendary six-time world champion boxer MC Mary Kom and males’s hockey group captain Manpreet Singh can be India’s flag bearers for the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics on July 23, Indian Olympic Affiliation (IOA) introduced on Monday.
World Championships silver medallist wrestler Bajrang Punia would be the nation’s flag-bearer for the closing ceremony on August 8.
The official dimension of the Indian contingent can be round 126 athletes and 75 officers, totalling 201.

The Indian contingent contains 56 % male and 44 % feminine athletes, the IOA knowledgeable.
The contingent has 78 quota locations and the athletes will compete in about 85 medal positions.

This can be Mary Kom’s swansong Olympics, having gained the bronze on the 2012 London Video games. For Manpreet, he can be taking part in his third Olympics version after representing the nation on the 2012 London and 2016 Rio Video games. Reigning Commonwealth and Asian Video games champion Bajrang can be featured in his maiden Olympics.
